  • Job Title: Part-Time Case Worker

    Location: East Palo Alto, CA

    Reports to: Program Manager

    Hours: Part-Time (20–25 hours/week)

    Compensation: $22-$25/hour, commensurate with experience

    Position Summary

    El Concilio is seeking a compassionate and community-oriented Part-Time Case Worker to support clients at our East Palo Alto site. This role provides direct one-on-one assistance to individuals and families seeking access to basic needs services, including housing, food, medical coverage, and more. The Case Worker will also participate in community outreach activities to connect residents with available resources and build trust in the neighborhood.

    Key Responsibilities

    Direct Client Support (1:1)

    • Conduct intake and needs assessments for clients seeking support

    • Provide referrals and application assistance for services such as Medi-Cal, CalFresh, housing assistance, and other safety net programs

    • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation in compliance with internal procedures

    • Provide follow-up support and track client progress and outcomes

    Outreach & Community Engagement

    • Participate in community events, school-based outreach, and partner activities to increase awareness of El Concilio services

    • Support promotores and program staff with targeted outreach campaigns in East Palo Alto and surrounding areas

    • Represent El Concilio professionally in community settings

    Program Coordination & Collaboration

    • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated support for clients

    • Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as scheduled

    Qualifications

    • At least 1–2 years of experience in case management, client services, or community outreach

    • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)

    • Strong knowledge of or lived experience with immigrant communities and public benefits systems

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural humility, and ability to build trust with diverse clients

    • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and able to learn case management systems

    • Able to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in East Palo Alto or similar communities

    • Familiarity with San Mateo County resource landscape

    • Knowledge of trauma-informed care or motivational interviewing
