SER National, Inc. (SER) is a national, nonprofit organization that addresses the needs of economically challenged individuals in education, job skills, training, literacy, and employment. As an affiliate, El Concilio’s history and work were highlighted.

Sustainable San Mateo County honors organizations for their efforts to create more sustainable communities

The Bay Area Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials recognized El Concilio for our 45 years of service to the community.

PBS interviews former Executive Director Ortensia Lopez and the Our Communities Our Bay team about the partnership to help low income communities cope with extreme weather.

Program Manager Aurelio Huizar talks to Telemundo 48 about the CHANGES program and the asistance available for low-income families who are financially struggling to pay their PGE bills.

In partnership with Redwood City Together, the Neighborhood Action Team is a collaborative of 10+ agencies serving youth and families in the Redwood City/North Fair Oaks community. Redwood City Together hosted an Community Impact Night to learn from the community about the most pressing needs. El Concilio, along with our partners received the Community Impact award from Senator Josh Beckers Office.

El Concilio partnered with the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability, the Stanford University Sustainable Urban Systems Initiative, North Fair Oaks Community Council, and Siena Youth Center to to investigate how North Fair Oaks and the broader region of the mid and lower peninsula are vulnerable to flooding, so that we can work towards developing more resilient communities in the face of climate change.
